CULINARY DIRECTOR OF
LESSING'S INC. TO
PARTNER WITH STONY
BROOK UNIVERSITY'S
CENTER FOR FOOD,
WINE AND CULTURE
March 6, 2006, Stony
Brook, NY—On April
20, 2006, Peter
Lessing, CEC,
Culinary Director
and Corporate
Executive Chef of
Lessing's Inc.,
which owns and
operates over 20
restaurants, country
clubs and catering
facilities
throughout Long
Island, including
the newly acquired
Three Village Inn,
will be hosting a
one-night food and
wine tasting at
Stony Brook
University 's Center
for Food, Wine and
Culture. The theme
for the class will
be, “Long Island
Delights” showcasing
local Long Island
fare- including;
duck, produce and
cheeses, paired with
the finest local
wines.
Peter is often
sought after by the
media for his
cooking/foodservice
expertise and
insight, and
frequently
participates in
culinary events
throughout the area.
He was the host of
the “Culinary
Experience” radio
show on WLIE, and
currently writes a
monthly culinary
column for Great
South Bay Magazine .
In addition, he had
a recurring Chef
Role on Father Jim
Vlaun's “Good News”
television show on
the TeleCare
network.
A Certified
Executive Chef ,
certified in 2005
through the American
Culinary
Federation—which
bestowed Peter with
the prestigious
“Chef
Professionalism
Award” in January
2006—and was named
to “Who's Who/
American Chefs” in
2004 and 2005. Peter
has received
numerous awards
recognizing his
culinary talents. In
2005, he received a
Bronze Medal at the
J. Kings Chefs Cook
Off, hosted by the
American Culinary
Foundation, and was
also honored with an
award from the
Executive Leadership
Council in both 2004
and 2005.
The class, which is
open to the public,
will take place on
Thursday, April 20
th , 2006 from 6:30
pm to 8 pm at the
Wang Center on Stony
Brook Campus.
Registration for the
event is $55 per
person, or $100 for
any 2 persons, all
guests must
pre-register by

Please note that all
participants must be
over the age of 21
years old. Space is
limited.
